Hello! It’s been awhile, huh?
Last month my resolution was to get out and see more of San Antonio, and sadly I did not do much of that. There’s so much to see and do here, and I just haven’t made the time to be social, active, or adventurous. I also got a new job (yay!) so I’ve been at our co-working space most weekdays being a Virtual Assistant (more on that below!).
Rueben and I got a scale and while not shocked, I was sad to see that I’d gained about 10 pounds since the last time I really weighed myself, which was late September before we left for Mexico. It’s been tough being in a new city with all of these new-to-me restaurants. I haven’t been eating well or working out, so of course this was going to happen.
I’m still occasionally walking home from downtown along the river, though!
So, time for April’s micro-resolutions. First off, I’m going to start taking more photos. What does this have to do with getting healthy? Well, it means that I’ll be going out and exploring, which means more movement.
Second, I’m going to spend less time on my phone. I realized that as soon as I’m done with work, or have a spare second, I’m playing a game or scrolling through Instagram or Facebook to ‘catch up’ with people I don’t even know. This will allow me to be more active, go for walks, read, and spend more quality time with Rueben. It will probably help me fall asleep faster, also, since I won’t be looking at a screen right before bed.
My new friend, Fred. Don’t worry, he still lives in the river.
NEW JOB ALERT!
I’m a Virtual Assistant! I’ve been working for almost two months now, answering phones and emails for a few cleaning companies as part of a team of VAs, and also helping my boss with administrative tasks. It’s great since I’ve been an office manager forever and this is along the same lines of work, but I get to work remote and mainly part-time.
I’ve actually thought about being a VA freelance – helping small businesses or startups with administrative tasks, finding the best apps or websites to make their work more efficient and effective, or just taking smaller tasks off their hands so they’re able to take care of the bigger problems. If you are in need of any of these tasks, reach out to me! I’d love to work with you.
So happy spring is here
